Chester City and striker Chris Holroyd have parted company by mutual consent.

The 21-year-old, who scored five goals in 51 appearances for City, had one year remaining on his contract.

Holroyd was one of three players placed on the transfer list earlier this week by manager Simon Davies as he attempts to trim the size of his squad.

It is understood Holroyd will sign for a club in the north-west in the next few days having previously been linked with Morecambe and Wrexham.
