Chester City ponder name change
Chester City
Chester City chairman Stephen Vaughan has revealed that he has enquired with the football authorities about changing the League Two club's name.

"Chester City Council haven't done a thing for this football club, so why should we promote them?" Vaughan told the club's website.

"Part of our ground is in Flintshire - it could be called Chester-Flint, or Chester-Ellesmere Port."

Chester Halton FC is also one of the new names being considered.

In December 2005, Vaughan threatened to move the club to play in Widnes, more that 20 miles from Chester, because of a lack of support from the council.
