Allen's Cheltenham are without a league win in 14 matches

Cheltenham Town manager Martin Allen has revealed that all the players at the club have been told they can leave.

The Robins are struggling financially but have managed to stave off going into administration.

Allen told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "Last week everybody was told that they're available and can find themselves clubs.

"There are certain players we don't want to lose, but that is not all in my hands unfortunately."

Allen added: "I've said all along the most important thing is to keep this club going financially.

"The chairman Paul Baker has done a marvellous job at the end of last week to get this club out of big trouble.

"I have to respect the chairman and the board's situation and protect the future of this football club."

Although Baker believes the Robins are facing a brighter financial future, Allen is not convinced their problems are over.

"I'm not sure the financial situation is fully out in the open to be honest," he added. "I've said I'll only talk about it at the end of the season."

In the last few days Cheltenham have lost their goalkeeping coach Alan Fettis, midfielder Alex Russell and striker Lloyd Owusu - all as cost-cutting measures.

They are currently rooted to the bottom of League One, 12 points from safety and without a win in 14 league matches.

"I've said on many occasions that you need to strengthen the 11 and if you don't you're going to struggle," added Allen.
