Leicester's veteran striker Barry Hayles has joined Cheltenham on loan, initially for a month but with a view to a longer-term loan deal in January.
The 36-year-old has already had one loan spell at Whaddon Road this season.
"Barry scored goals here, led the line well and is a good, confident professional player," manager Martin Allen told the Cheltenham Town website.
To help finance the move, long-serving Robins' keeper Shane Higgs has gone out on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Hayles is eligible for the Cheltenham's FA Cup second round tie at Morecambe.
