Cheltenham Town manager Keith Downing admits it is going to be hard to find a replacement for Steven Gillespie if the player's wish to leave is granted.
Gillespie has handed in a transfer request, meaning Downing may have to sign two new strikers this summer.
"Strikers are hard to come by and they certainly have a market price," he told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
"You want something tried and trusted but you're also looking for an up-and-coming one who's enthusiastic."
Downing has already declared his interest in Southend's Gary Hooper, who scored 12 goals in 19 games while on loan at Hereford last season.
Former Aston Villa and Port Vale striker Michael Husbands is training with the club and will feature in Cheltenham's first pre-season friendly against Didcot Town this week.
