Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Reading defender Graeme Murty on a one-month loan.
The 34-year-old right-back, who is also the Royals' captain, will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game against Nottingham Forest.
Charlton manager Phil Parkinson told the club's website: "I played with him at Reading and he's a good player.
"He's a strong character and will add a lot to this group of players, he has a strong mentality and experience."
Parkinson added: "He joins initially for a month and that gives him a chance to get some games under his belt."
Murty joined York City in 1991 following trials with Aston Villa, Leeds United and Stockport County and turned professional in March 1993.
He joined Reading in 1998 for a fee of 700,000 and, despite being hampered by injury early on in his Royals career, he was named captain after Parkinson left to manage Colchester United.
