Forest reject Celtic's bid to sign Kelvin Wilson early
Wilson has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Celtic in the summer
Nottingham Forest have rejected the latest offer from Celtic to bring defender Kelvin Wilson to Glasgow now instead of waiting until the summer.
Forest knocked back the offer of "several hundred thousand pounds" to sell Wilson before his pre-contract contract with Celtic comes into effect.
Manager Neil Lennon is seeking defensive cover following injuries to several key defenders.
Meanwhile, Abdoulaye Faye's proposed move from Stoke to Celtic is dead.
Stoke City chairman Peter Coates confirmed to BBC Scotland that talks with Celtic had not produced a deal to take the Senegalese defender to the Scottish Premier League club.
Lennon was already without the services of injured centre-halves Daniel Majstorovic and Glenn Loovens, and on Saturday Norwegian defender Thomas Rogne joined that duo on the treatment table.
The league leaders' need for cover has been made greater by Jos Hooiveld's departure to Copenhagen on loan.
