Majstorovic joined Celtic after the opening league game of the season
Swedish central defender Daniel Majstorovic has been ruled out for up to three weeks, Celtic have confirmed.
The 33-year-old has played in every Scottish Premier League match this season since moving to Celtic from AEK Athens in August.
But Majstororic picked up a hamstring strain during the first half of Saturday's 1-0 win over Aberdeen.
"Following a scan today, it's been confirmed that he'll be out for up to three weeks," said a Celtic statement.
It means he will definitely not be involved in Wednesday's visit by a Hearts side looking to build on Saturday's 1-0 win over reigning champions Rangers.
That result allowed Celtic to stretch their lead to five points, although third-top Hearts themselves are now only seven points behind with a game in hand.
I would imagine that Wilson will be one of the options we look for, yes
Celtic manager Neil Lennon
Celtic will now intensify their attempt to speed up the arrival of Nottingham Forest defender Kelvin Wilson, who has signed a pre-contract agreement.
The centre-half is out of contract with Forest at the end of the season and Celtic manager Neil Lennon has expressed his desire for Wilson to make the move during January.
However, the Championship club would be looking for a transfer fee to allow the player to exit the City Ground.
Prior to Majstorovic's injury, Lennon had sent Jos Hooiveld on loan at Copenhagen, while fellow central defender Glenn Loovens is making his way back from injury.
And, immediately after Saturday's game with the Dons, the Celtic boss said: "It is a blow if Majstorovic is out because he has been immense in the last couple of months for us.
"We will have to try and get someone of that ilk in.
"I would imagine that Wilson will be one of the options we look for, yes."
