Riordan was an unused substitute on Sunday |
Hibernian are one of five clubs who have been rejected in their attempt to take out-of-favour Celtic forward Derek Riordan on loan, BBC Sport understands. Nuremburg, Plymouth, Burnley and Crystal Palace also made inquiries about the 23-year-old, who joined Celtic from Hibs in 2006.
Celtic told Riordan that, if he does leave, it must be a permanent deal.
But Burnley also had a 400,000 cash offer rejected and are unlikely to increase their bid.
Riordan, who has made 10 appearances this season, mainly as a substitute, is keen to move in his search for regular first-team football.
And the Scotland international's frustration will have increased as he was again left on the bench during Sunday's 1-0 victory over Falkirk.
