Riordan has started just two matches for Celtic this season |
Derek Riordan is ready to leave Celtic in January after a miserable 18 months with the Scottish champions. BBC Sport understands the forward has instructed his agent to find a new club during the forthcoming transfer window - with the Glasgow club's consent.
The 24-year-old left Hibs in June 2006 but has made just 12 starts for Celtic and scored seven goals.
Last month, BBC Sport reported an interest in Riordan from SPL rivals Hearts and German club Nurnberg.
Riordan was top scorer for three seasons in a row with Hibs and was regarded as one of Scotland's brightest talents.
However, he has started just twice for Gordon Strachan's side this term and is now on the look out for a fresh start elsewhere.
