Defender Danny Livesey injury blow for Carlisle United

Danny Livesey
Livesey made 38 League One appearances for Carlisle last season

Carlisle United defender Danny Livesey has been ruled out for around 12 weeks after pulling out of training with a groin injury.

Scans have shown that the 25-year-old has damage to the muscles and tendons on the left side of the groin, however no surgery is required at this time.

Livesey will miss the start of the new season during the recovery process.

The injury will be reviewed in three to four weeks, with the player under complete rest until that time.

Carlisle signed the centre-half from Bolton in December 2004, and the Salford-born stopper has made almost 200 league appearances for the club in that time.

Meanwhile, striker Jason Price, who missed the win at Workington with a calf problem, rejoined the United squad for training on Thursday.
