Livesey hails 'close-knit' squad

Carlisle United captain Danny Livesey believes stability within the squad has helped this season's push for promotion to the Championship.

Despite having four managers in the last five years, the defender feels the club are beginning to see the benefits of a close-knit squad.

"No one has come in and changed all the team at once, they've just added little bits," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"That has helped as the core of the team has stayed together."

It has been a good season on a personal note for Livesey. The skipper has notched six goals and has been an ever-present for the Cumbrians in League Two.

"It's been a nice little season for me," he said. "But there's still a little way to go and it could still get even better.

"I'm quite pleased with the way it has gone but then a lot of the other lads could say the same. It's a nice time to be at the club."
