Carlisle boss Greg Abbott hopeful on transfer front
Abbott believes players will now be keen to resolve their futures
Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott is hoping to make progress in the transfer market in the next few days.
"Some of the inquiries we thought we had made some progress with are getting a lot warmer," Abbot told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"We are looking on a number of fronts and we are getting closer to decisions - good and bad decisions in my case.
"By the end of the week I would hope that (there) can be a clear picture of where I am going."
Abbott has only been able to make one addition to his squad so far this summer, with the signing of former Doncaster Rovers left-back Sean McDaid on a one-year deal.
If they are not back to me by the end of this week you would think that they are going to make their decisions and do other things

But Abbot said there was still plenty of time for players to make their minds up.
"We are still talking about 8 August and some players will keep their cards close to their chest. Some will go back pre-season and find themselves out of favour and want to look for some first-team football."
Fourteen players, including the club's loan contingent, departed Brunton Park at the end of last season as the Cumbrians looked to re-shape their squad.
"Players now are looking at 1 July as a date when everybody goes back pre-season training," said Abbot.
United have confirmed they currently have offers on the table for three players whose identities are not being revealed.
"We are not Manchester United," Abbott said. "Manchester United could probably do their work in the first week because everybody wants to play for Manchester United."
"With us, we have got to compete. We have got to get in the race with other clubs for other players and we have got to try to force them, or persuade them to come to our club," he said.
