Striker Danny Graham is set to leave Carlisle United after turning down a new deal with the club.
Graham, 23, has scored 40 goals in just over 100 appearances for the club since joining from Middlesbrough in 2007.
Carlisle boss Greg Abbott said: "Danny has told us that he feels it is time for a new challenge.
"We made what we felt was an excellent offer to try to keep him at the club, but the player has decided that it is time for him to move on."
Graham, who was the subject of a failed £250,000 bid from Huddersfield in January, scored 16 times last season but went 18 appearances without a goal since the start of the year.
The Gateshead-born forward began his career as a trainee with Middlesbrough, making just one first-team start for the club.
Following loan spells at Darlington, Derby County, Leeds United and Blackpool, the striker joined Carlisle for a three-month loan spell in January 2007 when he scored seven times in 11 appearances.
A full-time move to Brunton Park followed during the summer when he completed his first season at the club as top scorer with 17 goals.
Graham indicated via his agent on Thursday that he would be seeking employment with another club for next season despite Carlisle United making what they believe was their 'biggest ever offer' for a player.
"We have to accept that and move on ourselves," Abbott said.
"We wish Danny all the best as he has been fantastic for us, and we will now continue the search to bring in the kind of player who will improve the squad and take us to where we want to be."
