Carlisle manager John Ward says signing a new striker is now his top priority.
Ward is keen to add to his options up front as speculation continues linking Joe Garner with a move to Championship side Nottingham Forest.
"We all want to see Joe pull on a Carlisle shirt again and I'm not ruling that out at the moment," Ward told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"But we know Joe won't be fit so I'd like to bring in another face in that department, which is important."
Ward has brought in defender Josh Gowling from Bournemouth and goalkeeper Ben Williams from Crewe this summer, while former West Bromwich Albion, Boston and Workington Reds winger Dean Nicholson is on trial at Brunton Park.
I am hopeful by the time the new season starts we will have one or two new faces in

"Ideally I'd like to bring in a couple more faces," Ward said.
"I brought four players into the club in January and two this summer but it is important we get the right ones.
"There's a lot to look forward to with the group we have got but that doesn't stop me from looking to try and improve and I am hopeful by the time the new season starts we will have one or two new faces in."
