Bournemouth defender Josh Gowling has signed for League One side Carlisle on a free transfer.
BBC Radio Solent reported that the 24-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the Cumbrians, having been out of contract at Dean Court.
Walsall and Hereford were also rumoured to be amongst the clubs in the running for Gowling's signature.
The player confirmed his exit from the Cherries by posting a message on his own page of a social networking site.
Gowling told Carlisle's official website: "It has all happened quite quickly. It's been a fairly easy decision for me to make. People I spoke to all had good things to say about the club."
