Carlisle United goalkeeper Ben Williams believes he has made the right choice in leaving League One rivals Crewe.
The 25-year-old brought his four-season spell at Gresty Road to an end when he agreed terms with manager John Ward's side and is excited by the challenge.
"It took me about five minutes to realise Carlisle United was somewhere I want to be," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"Crewe were good to me but it came down to a personal choice about my career and how I want to progress."
Carlisle boss Ward will be under pressure to maintain the momentum they built up last season, particularly following the heartbreak of defeat to Leeds United in the League One play-off semi-finals.
However Williams says he has seen enough in the squad and performances last season to suggest they will be involved in the mix-up for promotion this time around.
"They were incredibly unlucky not to do it last season," he said.
"If the manager adds to the squad, and we can keep the home form going that they had last season and improve on the away form then without a shadow of a doubt I can't see why Carlisle won't be playing in the Championship.
