The 22-year-old, who started his career at Newcastle, joined Ipswich in August 2006 before having two loan spells at Yeovil last season.

McDonald told the club website: "We're bringing him in to have a look at him this week and we'll get him training.

"He may get involved in the friendly games that we have, so we'll just see how it all goes once he is with us."
