Carlisle have given a deal to teenage midfielder Ged Dalton which will run until the summer of 2009. The 17-year-old, who was at Scarborough in Conference North last season before their demise, was being watched by Blackburn, Liverpool and Leicester.
Manager Neil McDonald told the club website: "He's been with us for pre-season and we've seen what he can do and he's one for the future.
"He's fitted in well and we're hoping to improve him further."
