Manager Dave Jones committed to Cardiff City

Cardiff City boss Dave Jones says it is flattering to have been linked with the vacant manager's post at Fulham.

But Jones says the Premier League side has made no approach and stressed that he remains loyal to Cardiff.

"I'm fully committed here... I'm fully behind this football club," Jones said.

"I can assure our fans that I am - as always - 100% working at this football club to try and get things right, as I have done every season and during the season."

Jones has remained among the bookmakers' favourites to take over at Craven Cottage following the departure of Roy Hodgson to Liverpool.

The Cardiff boss has been ranked alongside the likes of former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson and ex-Tottenham boss Martin Jol, although the Dutchman has since opted to stay with Ajax.

"It's nice to have that written about you of course, I'm not going to lie and say that it isn't," Jones added.

"But this football club for the last five years has got everything I've got, my family and me."

People might think that you haven't done well so they get rid of you

Cardiff are still heavily in debt, with monies owed to the likes of Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs over unpaid taxes and to Scottish club Motherwell for last year's transfer to south Wales of defender Paul Quinn.

A failure to file year-end accounts for 2009 has also seen the Football League impose a transfer embargo on Cardiff.

Despite having to operate under such restrictions Jones says that he is happy to get on with the job in hand at the Cardiff City Stadium and, as far as he is concerned, his immediate future is with the Championship club he took over in 2005.

But the former Stockport County, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton boss knows only too well how fast things the situation of a football manager can change.

"You never say never in football because you don't know what's round the corner," Jones added.

"People might think that you haven't done well so they get rid of you or somebody comes in, but there's nothing to talk about, it's all speculation and I'm just getting on with my job as I always have done."
