Robbie Fowler's future at Cardiff is yet to be settled
Peter Ridsdale expects Robbie Fowler, 33, to be at Cardiff City next season.
But the chairman revealed he has not offered Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink a new deal and his future depends on whether the Bluebirds attract fresh blood.
Ridsdale said: "Robbie's been offered a new contract and I'm waiting to hear whether or not it's been accepted in its current format.
"I've not offered Jimmy a new contract. A lot depends on whether we succeed with other striking targets."
Ridsdale says Fowler's situation should be resolved by more talks and that if reports of Hasselbaink taking over as MK Dons manager come to fruition, the player will leave with the club's blessing.
"In Robbie's case I think it might take a bit more talking, but I would expect him to be with us next season," said Ridsdale.
"We are making bids for other players this week and when we find the right striker at the right price we'll bring him in.
"If and when anything happens with regard to Jimmy and MK Dons so be it. If he goes there, he'll go with our best wishes."
Ridsdale confirmed Peter Whittingham's deal is done bar for the paperwork and that he expects Roger Johnson and goalkeeper Peter Enckelman to remain at Ninian Park.
Ridsdale said: "Peter Whittingham's agreed the contract. We just have to get it typed up and he's going to come in when he reports back next week to sign it.
"Roger Johnson is pretty close. Peter Enckelman's going to sign a new deal for two years next week as well so we are ticking them off one by one.
"There are two or three other players we've made offers to that are not yet concluded, but I would expect that by the end of next week those should have been put to bed and we'll have to take a view on anyone who says they don't want to stay with us."
