Cardiff have put a 3.5m price-tag on striker Cameron Jerome, after rejecting a 2m bid from rivals Sheffield United. Bluebirds chairman Sam Hammam said: "We saved them (United) a lot of money on the cost of their phone call because it lasted three seconds.
"They're a nice little club, but that is what they are. They don't have the wherewithal or the stature to do it."
"It'll take a top Premiership club to sign Jerome. They'll have to pay around 4m or 5m, but no less than 3.5m."
Jerome, an England Under-21 international, is Cardiff's top scorer this season with 14 goals.
Fellow Championship play-off hopefuls Norwich City have also enquired about the 19-year-old's availability in the January transfer window.
