Cardiff have recruited ex-Leeds owner Peter Ridsdale as an adviser on the club's proposed 100 million stadium. Bluebirds chairman Sam Hammam has had discussions about the matter with Ridsdale over the past few months.
"We want to use Peter's knowledge of the development and leisure industry for the new stadium," Hammam said.
"We have a major project to develop and I want Peter's advice, he has all the contacts in Britain and further afield, which is vital."
The stadium scheme will be funded largely by retail outlets, investment projects and the leisure industry - all of which are seen to be Ridsdale's area of expertise.
Work on the state-of-the-art stadium opposite Cardiff's current Ninian Park home is due to begin in May 2006.
