Cambridge defender James Jennings happy to share goals
Jennings has impressed early on in his Cambridge career
Defender James Jennings believes Cambridge United are proving they can score goals from all over the pitch.
Three of United's five goals this season have come from members of the back four, something the 22-year-old hopes will continue.
He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We'll keep on the forwards' toes.
"Teams that do well have players chipping in from all over the pitch. Once Danny Wright and Daryl Clare get scoring they'll keep coming in."
The U's secured their first win of the season with the 2-0 defeat of Eastbourne on Monday.
Jennings' corner kick teed up centre-half Josh Coulson for the opener while the former Kettering man grabbed the second with a sweetly struck free-kick.
"I've been working on them quite a bit," he said.
"They don't all go in but one's got to go in every now and then."
The left-back is hoping to have his red card from Saturday's loss at Mansfield lifted in time to face Gateshead this weekend.
The FA will decide on Wednesday whether his sending-off for handball should stand.
