Cambridge United have signed striker Calum Willock and defender Kevin Roberts until the end of the season.

Willock, 28, joins on non-contract terms while Roberts, 20, had his contract terminated at Chester.

U's boss Martin Ling told the club website: "Calum has joined us on a non-contract basis to show us in the short term what he is all about.

"Kevin is a good addition to the squad. With games coming thick and fast, his versatility will be a big asset to us."

Willock started his career with Fulham, but made his name with Peterborough in League One.

Most recently he has been with Crawley in the Blue Square Premier and arrives at the Abbey having scored twice in 16 appearances this season.

"I'm here to score goals, put in good performances and help Cambridge United get as many points as possible," Willock said.

Utility-man Roberts has been ever-present for Chester, but settled his contract at the Deva Stadium as a result of the club's ongoing financial problems.
