Carden wants U's to bounce back

Assistant player-coach Paul Carden says Cambridge United have the chance to right some wrongs against Eastbourne in the FA Trophy on Tuesday.

The U's lost 1-0 to the Sports in the league on Saturday.

Carden told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We're playing Eastbourne Borough not Chelsea and no disrespect to Eastbourne but we are a bigger club.

"We've got better players, but we need to be more dominant on our own pitch and improve on Saturday."

The U's have lost their last four in the league, but can progress into round three of the Trophy with victory at the Abbey.

"We'll have to address a few things which we didn't do on Saturday. Our passing needs to be better and our defending needs to be better," Carden added.

Wayne Hatswell and Brian Saah return following suspension, but Aiden Palmer is cup-tied so Daryl Coakley could come into the side.

Meanwhile, Carden says the club are yet to receive any contact from Brighton regarding Chris Holroyd.

The Seagulls declared their interest over the weekend and Carden admits an offer looks imminent.

"I don't think anything is agreed or finalised yet, but it looks like brilliant news for Chris Holroyd and a bit of money for the club," he said.
