Brabin relieved after U's victory

Brabin says he is looking forward to the first round draw

Cambridge United manager Gary Brabin was relieved to see his side squeeze past Boston 3-2 in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

A late Matt Bloomer own goal saw the U's progress to the draw for the first round proper.

Brabin told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "My heart was in my mouth at times but overall we did deserve it.

"We were disappointed with the way we defended for the goals but all credit to Boston."

Danny Crow scored his second goal in as many games to put the U's ahead after eight minutes.

"The first 20 minutes we were brilliant and I thought it was going to be a rout," Brabin said.

Kieran Leabon headed Boston level on 28 minutes but Robbie Willmott put United back in front three minutes into the second half.

The Unibond Premier side were back level on the hour through Ollie Ryan before former United star Bloomer found his own net with just six minutes remaining.

However U's boss Brabin was happy just to be in the hat for the next round.

"We're through to the next round of the FA Cup which I really take seriously," Brabin said.

"I hold the heritage and history of the FA Cup in high regard and can't wait for the draw."
