Cambridge United defender Michael Morrison has handed the club a major boost by agreeing a new contract. The 19-year-old initially refused a new deal and looked set to leave the Abbey Stadium in the summer, but he has now agreed terms until June 2010.
"Michael knows what we're trying to achieve and he's changed his mind," boss Jimmy Quinn told the U's website.
Morrison, who has started almost 100 league games for Cambridge, had been a transfer target for Southend United.
He has also had spells training with Preston and Premier League clubs Newcastle, Everton and Chelsea.
