Cambridge United have rejected a series of offers made over the last few days by League One side Southend for defender Michael Morrison. Southend wanted to take Morrison, 19, on loan for the rest of the season ahead of a permanent move.
Director George Rolls told Cambridge's website: "Jimmy Quinn wants to keep our best players to give us the best chance to achieve something this season.
"So as a board we have decided to reject the offers."
Morrison, who has started almost 100 league games for the U's, will be out of contract in the summer after turning down the chance to sign a new deal at the Abbey Stadium.
