The England C international, 19, who has started almost 100 games for the U's has already rejected one offer and will be out of contract this summer.

Chairman Lee Power told the Cambridge Evening News: "We've made Michael a fantastic offer for this level.

"I think he'd benefit from staying with us for another year or two. We will give him enough time to think about it, we've asked for an early decision."
