Dawson is this season's newly-crowned Player of the Year
Bury captain Stephen Dawson has called on fans and players to "stick together" when the play-off chasing Shakers face Northampton in League Two on Saturday.
Dawson's side must win and hope other results go their way to stand a chance of winning promotion.
He told BBC Radio Manchester: "We need everyone to stick together.
"We need a big crowd down there, I'm sure they will get everyone down there. We have to win the game. Someone told me it's already a sell-out."
He added: "I knew we were going to bring a lot, but it's going to be tough, don't get me wrong.
"But if we prepare right we've still got a chance of getting in the play-offs.
"It's up to us now as a group of players. We know ourselves what we can do and we've all got to stick together.
"There's no point in getting any negativity around the place now. I know it's hard and I know it's not been a good couple of weeks for the club, the fans, everyone in general."
The Shakers' skipper conceded their end-of-season form - seven defeats in their last 10 league outings - came at exactly the wrong time in terms of chasing promotion.
"It hasn't been a nice place to be at," he said. "But we've still got a chance of going up to the play-offs and we're not going to give in yet."
