Bury player-coach Efe Sodje has accepted the Shakers players must blame themselves for dropping out of the League Two promotion play-off places.
The Shakers are one point and one place outside the top seven going into the final day's game at Northampton.
The 37-year-old defender told BBC Radio Manchester: "We have let ourselves down but we are still not out of it.
"We are not blaming anybody other than ourselves. We are blaming strikers, the defence - everybody in general."
He added: "We have had words in the changing room. We all agree it was not good enough in certain games which we could have finished off.
"We are still positive, that's the good thing about it. Our boys are strong, they've got strong minds and we'll definitely go for it on Saturday.
"The manager has done everything for us. He has made it so easy for us.
"He takes the pressure off us and it's for us players, we cross that white line and must make sure we go out and do the job."
