Deeney was a key figure in Burton's FA Cup run of 2005/06 |
Burton have completed the signing of former Republic of Ireland Under-21 goalkeeper Saul Deeney, who returns for a second spell at the Pirelli Stadium. Deeney, 24, has signed on non-contract terms from Hucknall Town as cover for veteran number one Kevin Poole.
Meanwhile, the Brewers have also extended midfielder Andy Gooding's loan spell from Coventry.
He has been given permission to play in the FA Cup on Saturday, while Deeney is also available for that game.
Deeney played 35 times for Burton in 2005/06 and kept a clean sheet against Manchester United in the FA Cup before returning to Notts County.
His second spell at Meadow Lane ended at the end of last season.
