Burton goalkeeper Saul Deeney will stay at the club until the end of the season after agreeing a short-term contract. The 22-year-old's deal ended after his heroic display during the 0-0 FA Cup tie with Manchester United but he will now play in the third-round replay.
"I'm pleased Saul has committed himself for the season," said Burton player-manager Nigel Clough, who had been exasperated by Deeney's stalling.
"He'll be free to leave in May though, if he wants to."
Clough held talks with the Irishman this week and persuaded him to stay at the Pirelli Stadium.
The Brewers' boss had threatened to hand goalkeeping coach Martin Taylor a start against the Red Devils if Deeney did not make up his mind.
Deeney moved to Burton in October after playing 48 games for Notts County.
