Burnley's Chris Eagles rejects chance to join Rangers

Burnley winger Chris Eagles has rejected the chance to join Scottish champions Rangers.
The clubs agreed a transfer fee for the 24-year-old but the player was unable to agree personal terms with the debt-plagued Glasgow outfit.
Clarets manager Brian Laws will now include Eagles in his squad for a pre-season tour to Singapore.
The former Manchester United wide man has 12 months of his contract to run at Turf Moor.
"It is disappointing we were not able to agree terms with the player, who received a good offer," Rangers chief executive Martin Bain told his club's website.
"I have stated already that we recognise the squad requires fresh faces but the transfer window closes in August and we will take our time to decide on the best way of utilising the resources we have."
Eagles, who was signed by Owen Coyle for Burnley from United in July 2008, has started 65 games for the Clarets and made a further 30 appearances from the bench, helping them win promotion to the Premier League two seasons ago.
He had been with Watford as a youth before moving to United's academy.
Eagles returned to the Hornets on loan and was also farmed out to Sheffield Wednesday and NEC Nijmegen during his time at Old Trafford.
Rangers are seeking wide midfielders following the departure of Nacho Novo, who signed for Sporting Gijon in search of regular first-team starts, and United States international DaMarcus Beasley.
Manager Walter Smith has not been able to add to his squad since the August 2008 signing of midfielder Steven Davis from Fulham.
Rangers have also lost top-scorer Kris Boyd under freedom of contract, while central midfielder Kevin Thomson is expected to sign for Middlesbrough on Friday after the clubs agreed a fee.
