Driver has attracted a number of clubs since the end of the season
Hearts have turned down an improved offer from English Championship club Burnley for winger Andrew Driver.
The Clarets, relegated from the Premier League last season, had a £1.5m offer for Driver rejected earlier in June.
Brian Laws' side have come back with a bid of £2.5m, potentially rising to £4m, but the Edinburgh club are holding out for £3.5m up front for the winger.
Driver was recently made available to play for Scotland following a change in international eligibility rules.
He signed a long-term deal under previous Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo in 2008 but has attracted interest from a number of clubs, with the Tynecastle outfit saying recently there had been "healthy interest" in the player.
Hearts have previously rejected a bid from Coventry City, while Dutch champions Twente Enschede claim they had a £3m bid turned down.
He moved to Scotland from Oldham at the age of 11 and has become a first-team regular with the Edinburgh club, although a series of injuries restricted Driver to 14 appearances last season.
