Akinbiyi has scored 105 league goals in his 16-year career

Burnley striker Ade Akinbiyi has completed his transfer to Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo.

The 34-year-old will be eligible to play for the Texas outfit upon the approval of his visa.

Dynamo official Chris Canetti said: "We are very excited to have Ade on board and look forward to his arrival.

"He brings a wealth of experience and talent and is an impressive physical presence. I know that he is focused on getting settled into the team."

The former Nigeria international had told the Dynamo website: "I was looking for a change.

"I am a winner, and I know a lot of people will point to my age, but I feel comfortable with it. I know I have a couple more good years in me."

London-born Akinbiyi has played for 11 English clubs, including Gillingham, Bristol City, Wolves, Leicester and Stoke.

He had scored only one goal in 15 games for the Clarets this season, against Chelsea in the Carling Cup.
