Defender Rhys Williams has returned to Middlesbrough following a successful loan spell with Championship play-off qualifiers Burnley.
The Wales under-21 international is now available to join Boro in their fight for Premier League survival.
"He has been great for us, and equally I think that we have been great for him," said Burnley boss Owen Coyle.
Middlesbrough face Newcastle on Monday in a North East derby that would leave the loser on the verge of relegation.
