Kosovo-born Berisha scored against England B in May for Albania
Manager Owen Coyle thinks sidelined Burnley striker Besart Berisha can take inspiration from the way Michael Duff battled back from the same injury.
Albanian international Berisha, 22, has been out since September due to knee ligament injury and defender Duff is recovering from a six-month lay-off.
Coyle told BBC Radio Lancashire: "The last thing you want at the club is two serious injuries.
"However, Besart can take confidence from Michael."
He added: "He's coming along but he's further behind where Michael is in terms of getting back to full fitness."
Berisha signed for Burnley in July for 340,000 from German side Hamburg SV but has yet to play for the Lancashire side after suffering his injury on international duty.
The signs are there and when he gradually takes those steps he's going to be in my mind for first-team selection

Northern Ireland international Duff has now played six reserve-team games and could make the first-team squad for this weekend's game against Norwich at Carrow Road.
In contrast, Berisha is unlikely to make his debut for Burnley until next season but he is still remains in his manager's thoughts.
Coyle said: "The signs are there and when he gradually takes those steps he's going to be in my mind for first-team selection."
