Burnley will sign Albania striker Besart Berisha from Hamburg SV for 340,000 after securing a work permit for the player. Clarets boss Steve Cotterill attended a meeting with Home Office officials in Sheffield on Friday.
And afterwards he said: "We are delighted with the decision. We are especially pleased for Besart himself, who was desperate to join Burnley."
Burnley are hopeful the work permit will be issued on Saturday.
"Hopefully, then, all the paperwork will be finalised in time for him to join his new team-mates in time for him to join his new team-mates in pre-season training," added Cotterill.
Berisha scored for Albania in their defeat to England B last month.
