Bristol Rovers boss Trollope hails striker Heffernan
Heffernan a hit at Bristol Rovers
Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope says on-loan striker Paul Heffernan has already made a positive impact just 10 days after signing from Doncaster.
The 28-year-old scored on his debut in the 2-1 win against Charlton on Monday.
"He's certainly added to the squad. His goal scoring record at this level and above his excellent," Trollope told BBC Points West.
"The experience he has is a know-how of his position that tells him when and where to run."
Trollope continued: "He's got a work ethic that any player needs to have a long career.
"Some eyebrows were raised as he's only 5ft 10ins but the way we play it's important people can receive the ball into their bodies and feet and he did that to great effect."
Heffernan has initially signed a one-month deal but Rovers are already looking beyond that.
"We're assessing as we go along. We're looking at Paul and he's looking at us and I'm sure the agent's looking at a lot of things," added Trollope.
"He's fitted into the group well - so far, so good. We're hoping we can make an impression on him and he's certainly made an impression within the group already."
