Blizzard joined Rovers on a free transfer earlier this month
Bristol Rovers midfielder Dominic Blizzard says he will be fit for the start of their league campaign despite missing most of pre-season.
The summer signing from Stockport is back in training after being sidelined by flu, and has not featured in any of Rovers' matches this summer.
"I'm feeling a lot better and I want to get as many minutes under my belt as possible," he told BBC Radio Bristol.
"I'm just starting to join in with training so I'm more positive now."
Blizzard will have to wait for the chance to make his Rovers debut after being left out of the squad for the match with Crystal Palace on Friday.
First-team coach Paul Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol: "To miss two weeks after a summer break is not ideal for any player, and coming to a new club it's quite a different experience for the lad.
"We want to make sure when we see him he can do himself justice.
"He won't be fully match fit for the start of the season but we're hoping he can be involved in some capacity."
