Bristol Rovers first-team coach Paul Trollope has urged supporters to be patient as he closes in on signing some new players to the Memorial Stadium.
Their only signing of the summer so far is defender Carl Regan from MK Dons.
"Things aren't easy if you're after players who are sought after and good quality," Trollope told BBC Bristol.
"There's a lot of interest in them, so things take time and patience is needed but I've had good backing and hopefully things will happen this week."
Rovers have been heavily linked with Stockport County's out-of-contract midfielder Dominic Blizzard, but Trollope is refusing to name his transfer targets.
"I'm not going to talk about any individuals but we are speaking to one or two others. Negotiations are ongoing and we hope to have some good news in the next few days," he added.
"We're looking to shape the squad and move one or two on, but even those players have been working hard in training."
Meanwhile, Trollope has refuted media speculation that Huddersfield Town have made a move to sign striker Rickie Lambert.
He said: "We've had no official approaches, and no phone calls to myself, to (director of football) Lennie Lawrence or the chairman, so he's our player and will be next season."
