Lambert has scored 18 goals for Bristol Rovers this season

Bristol Rovers striker Ricky Lambert says he is ignoring speculation over his future and focusing on helping the side move up the League One table.

Lambert has scored 18 goals this season but has not found the net in his last four appearances going into the January transfer window.

"You hear things all the time," he told the Rovers website.

"But I haven't got a clue so I'm just concentrating on my football because that is what matters."

Lambert is sure his side can make a winning start to 2009 and improve on their current 16th place, especially with game coming up against teams below them.

Rovers are in the middle of a nine-day spell without a game but return to action at Crewe on 6 January.

They then face Yeovil, Leyton Orient, Colchester and Cheltenham.

"We're a bit disappointed to be where we are, as I think we're better than that," added Lambert.

"We've got a bit of a break now but we come back with some good games and it will be nice to get a few wins. We can push on and show how good we are."
