Bristol Rovers have signed Carshalton defender Liam Harwood and allowed striker Andy Williams to re-join Hereford United on loan until January.
Harwood joins Rovers on a one-year deal from the Ryman League side.
Williams has not started a game so far this season, and Rovers brought in Jo Kuffour from Bournemouth last Friday.
First team coach Paul Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol: "It's not a case of pushing Andy out. We need something to give him a spark again."
Trollope added: "We want him to play regularly and score some goals. The move suits all parties - we still have belief in him."

Williams scored 12 goals as Hereford won promotion from the Conference in 2006, and joined Rovers a year later.
But he scored only six goals last season in all competitions.
