Interview: Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope

Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope says his team should make significant progress this season in League One.

Trollope told BBC Points West that adding midfielder Jeff Hughes and striker Darryl Duffy should push them into the top half of the table.

"We ended up consolidating last year when we probably had high hopes for a bit more. Allied with quarter-finals of the FA Cup we took it," said Trollope.

"We feel that we've added quality in the areas we needed to strengthen."

The Memorial Stadium outfit finished 16th in League One last season but Trollope says the club have since made progress.

"Darryl [Duffy] and Jeff [Hughes] have made an impact and they should be big players for us," he said.

"The players that were here last season have made progress with their fitness and techniques.

"All have contributed well in pre-season and hopefully they can carry that through to the League One campaign."
