Bristol City have agreed to sign Barnet winger Albert Adomah on a three-year contract, subject to the player passing a medical.

The 22-year-old, who can play on either wing, will be new Robins manager Steve Coppell's first signing.

Adomah was out of of contract after two seasons at Barnet, where he scored 20 goals in 120 appearances.

Barnet will receive compensation from City and the figure could be set by an independent tribunal.

Adomah told the City website he is looking forward to learning from manager Steve Coppell, who was a winger with Manchester United and England.

"I look up to him and listen to him," he said. "I prefer to play on the right but the gaffer has told me 'don't just think you're a right winger, go out there an express yourself' wherever he puts me."

Adomah joined Barnet from Harrow Borough in January 2008 and scored on his Football League debut in a 2-1 win over Hereford.

He was sponsored at Barnet by BBC football commentator John Motson.
