Bristol City goalkeeper Dean Gerken has not broken his collar bone, as had been originally feared.
Gerken was injured in a challenge by Nottingham Forest's Nathan Tyson during Saturday's 1-1 draw.
Tests show Gerken could be fit to return to the side shortly, although City physio Nick Dawes said Gerken still had bruising and swelling.
City's second choice stopper Stephen Henderson deputised for Gerken at Sheffield Wednesday on Monday.
