Bristol City hit by Wilson injury

Bristol City midfielder Brian Wilson has suffered a further injury setback with a suspected fractured tibia in a reserve match against Bournemouth.

The 26-year-old had been returning to full fitness after suffering from shin splints last season.

He has only played three Championship matches in 2009.

"It's really unlucky and we'll try and keep him as cheerful as we can. He'll be back in a couple of months," boss Gary Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol.

Johnson also revealed that goalkeeper Adrian Basso has yet to sign a new contract.

The Brazilian was transfer-listed at the beginning of the season after refusing a new contract and the situation is still not resolved.

"Bass has had a chat with the chairman and has assured him that whenever he is required he will give 100% in training and in matches as he always has," said Johnson.

"As it stands he is one of three goalkeepers competing for a place until the end of the season."
