Goalkeeper Martin Lejsal is a former Czech under-21 international
Bristol City have released Czech goalkeeper Martin Lejsal without offering him a permanent contract.
Lejsal, 26, played in three friendlies for the Championship side during pre-season, but after a medical the club decided against signing him.
"His club were pushing for a decision early, as there has been interest from Heerenveen," manager Gary Johnson told City's official website.
"We'll keep on searching and we have a couple of irons in the fire."
Summer signing Dean Gerken will be in goal for the friendly against Wycombe on Saturday, and will be joined in the squad by academy keeper Tom Bradley.
Last season's number one Adriano Basso remains on the transfer list at his own request, while Stephen Henderson is sidelined by a toe injury.
